This documentary describes the green turtle’s journey. It starts from the moment it is caught in the biological reserve in the Miskitu Cays. The journey ends with its death in Bilwi’s slaughterhouses. Green turtle meat is eaten in the North Caribbean Coast of Nicaragua. The Tawira indigenous communities practice this diet through ancestral and spiritual tradition. However, massive commercialization impacts this practice negatively. The absence of viable economic subsistence activities has turned this custom into a calvary for this endangered species.

This book collects stories and experiences from farmers, cooperatives partners, and beneficiaries from multiple projects executed in 11 countries by the The Finnish Agri-Agency for Food and Development Forest.

Since 2018, each International Women’s Otroas Feminismoas Finlandia has been organizing a public demonstration and events against the patriarchal system. “We are inspired by our sisters who fight against patriarchal and sexist violence in our territories of origin and demand their right to full citizenship and dignified life”. I am part of this Latin American and Caribbean feminist group in Helsinki.

In November 2019, Otroas Feminismoas Finlandia collaborated with SomoslaColectiva, and Solidaridad con Chile (Solidarity with Chile), organised in Helsinki the recreation of the performance of Performative Action A Rapist In Your Path. Lastesis, a feminist art collective, created this performance at a protest in the port city of Valparaíso, Chile. They based their performance on the work of the Argentinian feminist, Rita Segato, who argues that sexual violence is a political problem, not a moral one.
